America a Shining City on a Hill

Country Music! What else can I say? Nothing inspires us more than driving down a gorgeous road meandering through the mountains, a crystal clear stream following along side of us, and some good Ole' Country Music playing on the radio! For decades, our Country Music Superstars have sang about Love and Pain, and about Breakups and Pick Up Trucks, but perhaps the songs that touch us all the most are the ballads about American Pride! So come with me on a tour of the Top 10 Most Patriotic Country Songs!

10. " American Kids" Kenny Chesney

According to Wikipedia "Chesney heard the tune during a writers' retreat with McAnally, and according to Chesney: "It was unlike anything I'd ever heard... it just grabs you and holds on, but even more importantly, it feels really good." He also said that "there is so much more to being alive than partying, tailgates and bonfires," and that "American kids are so much more complicated, more fun, more real"

Wow!  Such an amazing inspirational Song!

9. "Ragged Old Flag" Johnny Cash

This song tells a story of an old man in a town square describing what the flag and country have been through together. Ragged Old Flag is typical of Cash's particular style of patriotism characterized by his appreciation for the land, people and complexities of the United States.

8. "America" Waylon Jennings

"Well I come from, down around Tennessee
But the people in California
Are nice to me, America
It don't matter where I may roam
Tell you people that it's home sweet home
America, America"

7. "Where The Stars and Stripes and The Eagle Fly" Aaron Tippin

This song was released in the wake of the September 11 attacks. All proceeds from the single went to the Red Cross and its relief efforts for the families of the September 11 attacks. According to then label president, Randy Goodman, the single raised approximately $250,000.

"Justice will be served and the battle will rage
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
And you'll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
'Cause we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way"

5. "Some Gave All" Billy Ray Cyrus

According to Song Facts "Billy Ray Cyrus originally recorded this patriotic song about the ultimate war sacrifice, as the title track of his 1992 debut album. The Country star penned the tune with his first wife Cindy Smith after talking with a Vietnam vet. Cindy and Billy were married between 1986 to 1991."

4. "Home" Dierks Bentley

Again according to Song Facts (Great Site for Info. on your favorite Artists)

"The stirring, patriotic video shows a variety of images capturing different aspects of Dierks' home country. "Home means so many things to so many different people," he said. "For my dad, who fought in World War II, it means one thing, and for my daughter, it means something as simple as playing in the park with her friends. For this video, we wanted to incorporate iconic images of America, but also capture the spirit of our country and the things that make it great.""

3. "Keep Us Safe" Carrie Underwood

Written for the American Soldier

"When the storm just won't let up, give us the faith to carry on
When we get scared
Let this be our prayer"

2. "Arlington" Trace Adkins

The song Arlington refers to the Arlington National Cemetery and a young American warrior who has recently passed and is joining its ranks. This is a sacred place to Americans and has been the burial place for her veterans, particularly those who pass in military combat since our own Civil War. It lies just outside of Washington D.C. and is the final resting place of more than 400,000 American Veterans, Presidents and other great Americans.

So incredibly moving, I was brought to tears by Trace Adkins listening to Arlington, what an incredible tribute to all of our brave military member that have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we all can live in peace and freedom.

What an amazing journey! I hope you all enjoyed listening to these amazing tributes to our "Shining CIty on the Hill" For me it was a journey of pride and wonder and cheers and tears, but now down to our final video. I would be surprised if you weren't familiar with our next song, a song that brings every American a sense of pride and honor, a song played at Barbeques and Baseball Games all throughout the year, a song played at Presidential Rallies and in the Garages and Factories that keep America moving, our #1 video is none other that....

#1 "God Bless The USA" Lee Greenwood

This incredible video was shot at Yankee Stadium just six weeks after the horrific attacks of September the 11th, it's incredible to watch the patriotism, resolve and strength of the people of New York City as they watch Lee Greenwood belt out the lyrics of this masterpiece.
